Welcome to Zeta House!
As a new resident of Zeta House, there are a few important things you need to know to settle in comfortably.
Orientation
Zeta House is located at 1310 East 2nd Street Austin Texas.
When you first arrive at Zeta House, you're likely to be dropped off on East 2nd Street. The gate you enter will be the South Entrance Gate.
If you are driving here, you can park on the right-hand side of Navasota Street. There is plenty of free parking along that street.
Entering the House
To enter Zeta House, you'll need to access one of the two gates: the South Gate or the East Gate.
The Gates are unlocked, however they both use a sliding bolt latch.
These latches can be be pulled out. Peek around the gate mesh, and then just reach other to pull the latch out. To open the latch, simply pull it towards you while pushing the gate in to relieve friction pressure.
The East Gate latch is kept closed due to wind. After you pass, close the East Gate and slide the bolt back.
The South Gate latch is kept open in order to make it easier for couriers to put packages in front of the South Porch which is more secure. Close the gate, but do not slide in the bolt, keep it open.
Once you reach the door, you will need to open the keybox which is on the side to retrieve a key to open the door. The doors are secured with a lever lock. The lever needs to be lifted in order to unlock or lock the doors. The doors are kept locked at all times for the security of the residents and their belongings. If you have trouble, please ring the door bell.
- Keybox Access
- Each entry door has a keybox.
- The code for the keybox will be provided to you through WhatsApp.
- Inside the keybox, the key is chained, preventing it from being misplaced.
- Using the Key
- Once you have the code, open the keybox.
- To unlock the door, first lift the lever upwards on the door.
- Insert the key and twist it to unlock.
- After Entering
- Open the door and enter the house.
- Immediately return the key to the keybox.
- Ensure the key and its chain are securely placed back, and close the keybox properly.
Entering your Room
Upon entering, your room will be on the south-side. Your room allocation will be provided to you over WhatsApp.
Each room is fitted with a smart lock. The smart lock will be unlocked when you first enter your room.
Test your smart lock, by exiting the room and hitting the lock button. Then wait until the screen is blank, tap the screen, hit the 2 random numbers that pop up, then enter your 4 digit room code. This will unlock the smart lock and allow you to re-enter the room.
Getting to Know your Residents
Get to know your residents. At Zeta House, there will be up to 5 other residents located in the other bedrooms. Those residents are mostly singles, however occassionally we do have couples within a room. Residents at Zeta House are typically young professionals engaged in remote-work, technology or creative industries who value community and collaboration.
It's important to introduce yourself to your fellow residents and participate in house activities to foster a sense of community.
One of the residents is the Community Steward. This resident is responsible for being the main point of contact for residents for their questions and issues. The Community Steward is also responsible for logistics of resources and inventory, and organizing events.
The Community Steward will also assist in resolving any conflicts that may arise between residents, ensuring that everyone feels heard and respected.
When you first enter Zeta House, the Community Steward will contact you to schedule a time for in-person orientation. This may be on the day of your arrival or the next day.
Your lease requirements and conditions including payments will be managed by the Property Manager. Although you can directly talk to the Property Manager, most concerns can be solved through the membership portal dashboard.
